Gaeltacht Sponsorship

We’re proud to support local students in experiencing the Gaeltacht, a unique opportunity to improve Irish, build confidence, and spend time immersed in the language.

This scholarship is open to students in Palmerstown and Chapelizod who have a genuine interest in Irish and want to develop their skills in a fun, supportive environment.

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be aged between 12–18 years at the time of travel
• Be a member of Palmerstown Credit Union
• Live in the Palmerstown or Chapelizod Area
• Be currently attending secondary school
• Have an interest in the Irish language (no need to be flawless)
• Be available to attend a recognised Gaeltacht course during summer 2026

Applicants who have not previously attended the Gaeltacht may be prioritised.

How to Apply

Applying is straightforward:

• Complete the online application form (Opens on 30th April 2026)
• Include a short response about your interest in the Gaeltacht
• Submit before the 15th May 2026
