Glór na Gaeilge - Gaeltacht Scholarship

Glór na Gaeilge (The Voice of Irish) is a fund in place to support students visiting the Gaeltacht. The fund is a wider part of our goal to support the future of the Irish language. We’re proud to support local students in experiencing the Gaeltacht, a unique opportunity to improve Irish, build confidence, and spend time immersed in the language.

This scholarship is open to students in Palmerstown and Chapelizod who have a genuine interest in Irish and want to develop their skills in a fun, supportive environment.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be aged between 12–18 years at the time of travel
  • Be a member of Palmerstown Credit Union
  • Live in the Palmerstown or Chapelizod Area
  • Be currently attending secondary school
  • Have an interest in the Irish language (no need to be flawless)
  • Be available to attend a recognised Gaeltacht course during summer 2026

Applicants who have not previously attended the Gaeltacht may be prioritised.
