The Government has introduced a new EV Scrappage Scheme to help eligible motorists trade in an older petrol or diesel car and move to a new battery electric vehicle.

You could receive up to €8,500 in Government supports:

• €5,000 EV Scrappage Incentive
• €3,500 EV Purchase Grant

The scheme opens 1 July and will operate on a first come, first served basis while funding lasts. Who is eligible? You may qualify if you: Own a 2013 or older petrol or diesel vehicle Have owned the vehicle for at least 12 months Are purchasing a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) Meet the scheme's eligibility requirements
